Thanks to funding from their local county councillor, pupils at Killigrew Primary School in St Albans will be able to attend confidence-boosting drama sessions.

County Councillor Aislinn Lee (St Stephen's Division) has allocated £300 from her locality budget to Flip Theatre Workshop so they can run a drama course at Killigrew Primary School. The money will help to fund a six week drama-based project for children who have behavioural difficulties or low self-esteem.

A total of £10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council to spend on worthwhile community projects in their area.

Locality budgets were launched in July 2009, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire. For information on how to apply for funding under the scheme, visit
