Local Vauxhall retailer, Evans Halshaw, is encouraging families in St. Alban's to explore all that is great about England this Easter, after research by the British manufacturer reveals that people are feeling more proud to be British than ever.
And with the school holidays just around the corner, the dealer, with sites in Mount Pleasant and Priory Park, is keen to share its top tips to help keep children entertained whilst travelling in the car this spring.
Vauxhall's 'Explore England' campaign
Following the events of 2012, a study by Vauxhall indicates that three quarters of people are feeling prouder to be British*.
To coincide with this finding, and to celebrate the fact that Vauxhall is proud to be a great British car manufacturer, the retailer is launching a campaign to encourage local families to explore what this great country has to offer during the Easter school holidays.
Lee Joel, Dealer Principal at Evans Halshaw in Mount Pleasant, explains: "Vauxhall's 'Explore England' campaign is a great way to encourage families to spend time together this Easter exploring not only their region but the country as a whole.
"Whether it's discovering days out, ferrying the family far and wide or taking on the challenge to be a tourist in their own town, we want to inspire families to get out and about in England!"
Keeping kids entertained
With cars full of kids traveling the length and breadth of England this Easter, it won't be long before drivers hear the dreaded phrase: "Are we nearly there yet?"
Fortunately, Evans Halshaw is also on hand to help families get the most out of their adventures by suggesting ways in which kids can be kept entertained when travelling.
Paul Lawless, Dealer Principal at Evans Halshaw in St. Albans, adds: "Many of us at the dealership have first-hand experience when it comes to finding ways to break the boredom for young travellers on long journeys.
"One sure-fire way to engage kids in the world passing by their window is to play car games as a family, such as I Spy, the Car Colour game and the Alphabet game. Being well prepared and having a collection of colouring books, puzzles paper and pens on hand will also help to keep passengers occupied, as well as remembering to pack those much-loved toys and teddies!"
"For fans of in-car technology, a kids' DVD or video game is another great way to entertain back-seat travellers, in addition to portable tablets and hand-held consoles. Parents could give children a disposable camera so they can take pictures of interesting sights on their journey, too!"
Other top tips for keeping kids happy in the car include:
· Listening to music
· Singing nursery rhymes
· Reading stories aloud and listening to audio books
· Giving them a map to follow the route
· Having a supply of healthy drinks and snacks available
· Making scheduled stops to help break up the journey
· Travelling at times when children are more prone to sleeping
· Ensuring young passengers are comfy and have plenty of room
Whatever the journey motorists take this Easter, those looking for a new car can discover a wealth of family-friendly Vauxhall vehicles at Evans Halshaw.
From the compact and multi-purpose Vauxhall Meriva, which offers fantastic flexibility, relaxing comfort and excellent efficiency, to the clever-thinking and sharply-styled compact seven-seater Zafira with impressive safety features and the similarly spacious and dynamic premium seven-seater Zafira Tourer, there's an option to suit all lifestyles.
What's more, there are options to suit every family's budget too, thanks to Vauxhall's innovative zero percent APR Flexible Finance scheme, which makes exploring England in a brand new model even easier.
