The new owners of St Albans City FC have outlined their plans for the club and have pledged to put it back in to the heart of the local community. Speaking at Harvesters FC's Presentation Day, new co-owner of the club, Lawrence Levy, addressed the assembled youngsters who play at the successful Smallford club, and set out his plan of new hopes for the future of the Saints.

The new owners of St Albans City FC are aiming to put the club at the heart of the local community.
Mr Levy, who bought the club with John McGowan in May this year, acknowledged the downfall of the club, not just in the team's performance but also in the condition of the ground. He spoke of his hopes of re-building the club with the support of fans and of the local community and of giving St Albans back the football club he believes the City deserves. He said that as well as contacting local businesses about sponsorship, St Albans City FC would be talking to all the local youth football teams to engage them in moving forward with the club.
The owner of Levy Assocaites, a recruitment consultancy with it's UK office based on St Albans' Holywell Hill, went on to say, how the club would also be in touch with St Albans' Primary Schools and would be inviting them to take place in half-time penalty shoot outs at the Clarence Park ground.
But these aren't the only measures being taken by the new owners to get families through the turnstiles; The cost of going to a Saints game will be greatly reduced for the new season. Adults tickets will be reduced to £10 and accompanying children will get in for free, plus family tickets, for two adults and two children, will be available for just £15. Four pre-season friendlies have also being organised to re-generate interest in the club and to introduce new blood in to the stands. These kick off with a fixture against a QPR Eleven on 18th July 2011 at 7.15pm.
And behind the scenes, the new owners are working with St Albans District Council to secure the future of the club, and path the way for higher-level football action from our St Albans team.
Mr Levy told of how highly regarded St Albans City FC are in non-league football. It seems there are good foundations in place now for the club to regain former glory, and to take strides forward, but most importantly perhaps that it will find its place at the heart of the local community.
