People will enjoy better access to Redbourn Methodist Church thanks to a £150 allocation from the locality budget of Cllor Maxine Crawley (St Albans Rural).

The money will be used to spread gravel on an unadopted road running from Lords Meadow to in front of the church, to improve the surface and helping to avoid large puddles forming when it rains. This will make it easier for people to access the church.

There will also be more general benefits to the community as the road is also used to access nearby cottages and the village tennis courts, scout hut and allotments.

A total of £10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council to spend on worthwhile community projects in their area.

Locality budgets were launched in July 2009, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire. For information on how to apply for funding under the scheme, visit www.hertsdirect.org/localitybudgets
