Former St Albans School boy's, who part-form the group, The Keys have made it through to the Judge's House phase on the itv show, X Factor.

Three of the group's five members, Rohan Kapoor, Nick Jackson and Dan Lipman are Old Albanians. Along with their fellow bandmates, lead vocalist Lewis Codling and Charlie Healey, they have made a huge impression on the judges and the public since their first audition, gaining a standing ovation for their performance. Since then, the video of their audition on YouTube has gone on to receive in excess of 725,000 views and has prompted over 800 comments.

The group will now have to win the support of the Group's mentor, N-Dubz's, Tulisa Constostavlos. She will be taking The Keys to a house in Greece for next weekend's X-Factor selection showdown, where the eight groups will be whittled down to four for the live TV show.

Clearly pleased with her protégés, Tulisa is quoted by today's Metro as saying: "Imagine if I walked into the room and saw a different category,' I would feel bad for the category because they would know and I would know that I really, really had my heart set on something else.

'I'm just so grateful that I've been given the groups this year. I really feel that I can bring the best out of them, and I really feel that they can bring the best out of me as a judge.'

If you want to get behind the local lads, you can join their 12,500+ followers on twitter here: http://twitter.com/#!/TheKeysUK or support their X-Factor campaign on Facebook here.

Meanwhile, I'll be watching X-Factor with renewed interest next weekend to see how our local lads get on. Good luck to The Keys!

Having watched X Factor over the weekend, and cringed at the performances of the groups manufactured by the show, it's a real shame The Keys (or Chasing Keys as I believe they're now known) never made it through. Surely other talented and real groups won't bother applying in future as it seems the show holds no place for them, and is only interested in cherry-pickicking solo artists to bunch together and style as groups.

According to The Sun, it looks like our local lads are out of the competition. The group, who have been renamed Chasing Keys since entering the X Factor, are thought to have been too posh by judge Tulisa Constostavlos. Read the story here: http://tinyurl.com/5s6nd2q Should how you've been bought up, your education and how well you speak matter when it comes to a talent contest?
