Snow Information for St Albans - 5th February 2012

Late last night snow steadily fell in St Albans and this morning we've woken up to 5 or 6 inches across the city. Whilst it looks very pretty and serene out there, here's a quick look at how it's impacting on local services:

Luton Airport has issued an emergency notice advising passengers that due to adverse weather, flight departures and arrivals may be subject to delay or cancellation.  Passengers and those coming to the airport are advised to contact their airline directly for further information. Herts Highways have announced on twitter this morning that they are continuing to operate ploughing and gritting but no further snowfalls are expected.

Council-run golf courses across the District are closed today due to the snow. The Batchwood Tennis Bubble is open this morning but will be shutting at 1pm. Other leisure facilities may be affected by the adverse weather conditions, so please phone ahead of turning up – here's a link to contact numbers.
