St Albans City Train Station has been closed this morning due to a fatality.
St Albans and Harpenden Review have reported that about 9.45am this morning a person was hit by a High Speed Train passing through the station.
An eye-witness at the station reported nine police cars in attendance, along with an ambulance.
It seems that the station was evacuated following the incident and passengers congregated outside the station ticket office.
First Capital Connect are said to be transporting passengers to Hatfield to continue their journeys in to London.
The First Capital Connect website currently informs to expect major delays between Luton and London St Pancras International until 2.30pm. It is not known when St Albans City Station will be reopened.

It appears that the person who died at St Albans City Station yesterday morning was a 36 year-old woman from Luton, and not a man as earlier reports indicated: http://tinyurl.com/7u8t9hw
