Will St Albans see snow this week as temperatures dip?

St Albans is going to be hit by a cold spell this week, as the temperatures take a dip and much of the country will experience snowfalls.

Likely that we'll see the lake freeze again this week, with temperatures set to fall as far as -4C.
Although the current forecast from the BBC for the next five days in St Albans doesn't feature any of the white stuff, temperatures are set to fall as low as –4C on Thursday night and will barely creep above freezing point during the day.
Inevitably, we are going to suffer some heavy frosts and ice on the roads, which will keep Herts Highways busy with overnight gritting.
But with temperatures so low, it is still possible that we may get our second snow flurry of the season. Be prepared in the event of snow and ice with this article, which has advice on school closure information, public transport and gritting procedures.
And if you need a reminder of how pretty our city looks in the snow, then take a peek at this 'St Albans Snow' gallery.

In case it snows, here's a useful link from St Albans City and District Council website, which links through to the council-owned leisure facilities in the District so you can find out if their opening schedules are affected: http://tinyurl.com/7lnvazu

ReportI keep hearing that temperatures are going to sink to -10C over the weekend and that we'll see snow on Saturday. BBC are saying -3C. What are you hearing and where do you get your info from? Do we just like to big up a weather story?
