Hi, my wifes employer is relocating her to Harpenden.Housing in Harpenden is very expensive so we are looking at St Albans as an alternative place to live.

North St Albans would be a great location, but I was wondering what traffic is like if she had to commute from South St Albans to Harpenden. Am I right in thinking that traffic through the middle of St Albans would be a nightmare?

We have a 3 year old so schools is also important when choosing our location.
Access to the station would also be useful, so are there bus routes to the station? Or does everyone drive there?

Any advice most welcome!
Alan

Yes you would be right, traffic in St Albans is a nightmare. You might be best to look at public transport to get to harpenden if that is an option!

Yo don't need to go through the centre of town, depending on where you are coming from you can use the eastern ring road which takes you past Batchwood Golf Course, to the Ancient Briton crossroads and then right onto the Harpenden Road. There are bus routes to the station from all directions so it's not all doom and gloom !
