Women in St Albans' Asian community are being given the opportunity to improve their numeracy, literacy and life skills, through the continuation of the Tiffen Club project.

It's immediate future has been secured courtesy of a £1,000 grant from the St Albans East Division Councilor, Rob Prowse.

The Tiffen Project aims to help Asian women gain new skills and confidence to allow them to live a more independent life.

Councillor Prowse said, "This organisation provides an important service to the local Asian community and helps women acquire skills which will help them play a more active part in the wider community, and as such, lead more fulfilling lives."
