The council is working with St Albans retailers to introduce late night shopping on Thursday evenings in the run-up to Christmas.

Marks and Spencers and Boots are amongst those keen to open up late from 17th November until Christmas.

The initaive will be discussed at at the City Centre Retail Forum next week and it's suggested that market traders and city centre restaurants will be encouraged to get involved too.
