There are plans to install electric charging points for cars in St Albans, as Herts County Council have won government funding to put in place a sustainable transport plan in the city, as part of their 'Big Herts, Big Ideas' bid. As far as timing goes, I don't know when we might see this happen, but if you're thinking of investing in an electric car maybe give the Council's Environment and Roads Department a call - 0300 123 4047. Please let us know what they say!
Thanks Debbig, I already have an electric car but the battery is dead after 4 years of use. I am waiting to confirm that I have a garanteed charging point before replacing the battery as they are expensive. Do you have an electric car or know anyone that would rent me a parking spot where I could charge? I would only need a small spot on someones driveway and an external electric socket. I would install a small electric meter too so any bills would come directly to me so no hassle to the owner. I would only need to charge a couple of times a week max.
