Dancer and choreographer

who has performed with a sky full of stars, lends her expertise to a unique

class letting busy adults find fun on the dance floor

“Working with the top names in the music business is so

exciting….I was dancing for Emma Bunton when she told us we would be flying to

Milan in a private jet to perform her single ‘Maybe’…..when we got there we

were having lunch and Christina Aguilera came over to say hi and wish us luck!”

“I am

now really looking forward to developing the Popdance brand and supporting it

with the many contacts in the professional dance world I am part of.”

KYLIE MINOGUE, Paul

McCartney, Emma Bunton and Will Young may not be the kind of people you expect

at your local dance class, but at Popdance you may be lucky enough to be taught

by one of their dancers.

Helen Dixon, 28, who lives

in St Albans, has signed up to be one of the dance and exercise class’s

teachers and choreographers and will be holding her classes at Harpenden

Leisure Centre and Trestle Arts Base in St. Albans at the end of April.

After dancing with the

stars for the last ten years, most recently including resident choreographer

for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, Helen is looking forward to

bringing her wealth of experience to her very own Popdance classes.

She said: “I’m sure my

experiences with pop stars can only add to the atmosphere and fun element of my

class, which is so important with Popdance. I have many stories of personal

experiences with famous singers that I can also entertain my Popdancers with!

“One of my best experienced

was achieving one of my dreams – dancing on stage live at Wembley Stadium. It

was just amazing. I was dancing for Will Young, the crowd was unbelievable and

Will Young is lovely to work with. I have danced with him since he first won

Pop Idol and have also been in his videos and in his ‘Keep On’ tour.”

Helen’s experience since

graduating from Bird College in Sidcup started when she got an agent straight

away and then got a job working with Strictly’s former judge, Arlene Phillips, on Saturday Night

Fever.

She has also worked with

Paul McCartney, Heather Small, Danni Minogue, Charlotte Church and Girls Aloud

and been in productions such as Hairspray, Singing in the Rain and Les Liaisons

Dangereuses among many others.

And she added about

joining Popdance: “I was attracted to the idea because it fits really well

around my work as a freelance dancer and choreographer. I am in full control of

my class and the flexibility is ideal. I also wanted to be able to choreograph

fun routines that appeal to a wide range of people who have or haven’t had

dance experience and Popdance lets you do all that.”

Popdance, the brainchild

of former marketer and mum-of-two Sue Wybrow, 40, teaches

professionally-choreographed routines to classic pop tunes from the 80s through

to the noughties; by artists such as Madonna, Kylie and Michael Jackson, Lady

Ga Ga and Beyonce.

They are a fun and relaxed

way to take time out, exercise and tone up while dancing to great music.

It costs from just £150 to

attend a Popdance Training Session and following completion, teachers can run

as many classes as they want, including choosing their most convenient

location.

The team is looking for

passionate, dedicated dance and fitness teachers across the UK who have

experience of teaching a mixture of adult age groups. The emphasis is very much

on creating an enjoyable class and building a great rapport with the

Popdancers.
