Innovative Solution to Potholes?

A cash-strapped village in German has come up with an innovative solution for funding the repairs of local potholes - selling them.
Christoph Schmidt-Rose, the Mayor of Niederzimmern, located near Leipzig, has announced that, for €50 (around £45), the council will repair a pothole, placing a personal message on top. Schmidt-Rose told a local radio station that, "It's about using a funny idea to find people prepared to help us sort out our roads" who can then "sort of feel like they own the hole in the road," Schmidt-Rose said.
Several television stations and newspapers have, he confirmed, already taken him up on the offer.
Perhaps St. Albans could try something similar to help speed up the repair of potholes which have appeared across the city owing to recent inclement weather.
Would you be willing to pay to have a pothole filled in a scheme similar to this one? Would this innovative solution work in St. Albans?

What a great idea - there are millions of pot holes in St Albans! Though won't it be distracting if you are driving along and trying to read them?
