New Year!! New You??

We all know what we are supposed to to if we want to make a change

to our routines.  It all depends on your New Year Resolutions.  Perhaps

your resolutions were one of the following popular ones:

1.    Lose weight

2.    Be more organised

3.    Look after your money more

4.    Have some more time for oneself?

5.    Cook healthy food for the kids?

And

we all start off with such good intentions.  We join that gym, we buy

that filofax, we close our purse, we lock the toilet door and let the

kids shout at us through it, and we dust off that old Annabel Karmel

recipe book.  But how long does it last?  Until January 2nd?  Hopefully

a bit longer but we do then slip back into our old routines - unless,

that is, we get our teeth into it and really enjoy the changes we are

making.

It usually works better if you change one thing at a time.  Small changes are achievable and longer lasting.

So

perhaps this January, start with the time for oneself - give yourself

10 minutes to read that copy of Heat or that novel you keep promising

yourself but never had the time to.

Then perhaps, once a week, have a look at the free recipes on the Sainsburys website www.sainsburys.co.uk/recipes - they are not only healthy but are also cost effective (see what we've done there!  Two birds, one stone!).

Writing

a to-do list is fairly obvious but certainly works wonders for your

brain when you can see the big ticks against all the jobs you've done.

And

losing weight?  You thought I'd forgotten that one?  Well, look out for

offers at the gym if that is your cup of tea, but if it is not, why not

look at local dance classes such as Popdance (www.popdance.co.uk),

which was created for people like us - adults who want to have fun,

take time out of our busy lives, relive a bit of our youth and learn

dance routines to the kind of music we like from the 80's, 90's and

modern day - Pop music - all with no pressure, just for fun and getting

a bit of exercise without realising it!

And if that is not your cup of tea - walking walking walking makes a big difference!

Happy New Year and a Happy New You!

I think I'll be walking! Popdance doesn't quite sound like my idea of fun?!

Would thoroughly recommend the Sainsbury's recipe website though: here's another link: tinyurl.com/yevozca
