Last week it was Anne Main MP and a group of her Conservative supporters who I came across, stuffing envelopes, in the White Hart Tap. This week I bumped into Sandy Walkington, the Liberal Democrat's Parlamentary hopefully, handing out leaflets near St. Albans City Station.

Election season is starting to heat up, with all three major parties, and a handful of other parties, fielding Parliamentary candidates in St. Albans. We're going to be covering the run-up to the elections here, starting with this list of websites where you can find out more about the main party candidates. I've chosen to list the website of the candidate, rather than the party, because it's often possible to find out a lot more about the actual candidate on these sites:

Anne Main (Incumbent), Conservatives: http://www.annemain.com/

Roma Mills, Labour: http://www.stalbanslabour.org.uk/

Sandy Walkington, Liberal Democrats: http://sandy4stalbans.org/blog/

If I had to give awards to each of the sites, Main would get top marks for a professional looking brochure site, Walkington would get the Gold for authentic use of social media to engage directly with voters online and Mills would win Yahoo's Cool Site of the Day for reminding me of 1995 when that award actually did mean something.

At a parliamentary level the Liberal democrats are not the most supported in St Albans, they are third. Suggesting otherwise is an election tactic to boost the profile of the Lib Democrats. They were a distant third in the last GE election.
How people vote in local elections is very different to national elections and does not indicate party support.
Its probably best to list the green and Ukip sites in the interests of electoral law and fairness. Media has a duty to give fair amounts  of coverage to all candidates when the election is called!
John that is a very confident assertation on your website

Robin, the three best-supported parties in St Albans are the Lib Dems, the Conservatives, and the Greens, in that order. Labour polled 4th in the district in the County elections last June, well behind the Greens.
On that basis, if no other, you might want to include the Green parliamentary candidate, Jack Easton. The local website is tinyurl.com/yeys9ty
    Thanks!
