The peculiar window display at Losner's

Walking through St Albans this morning I was struck by the strangeness of the window display at "Weddings by Losner's" - have a look below and see if you think it's as strange as I do.

At first glance it's simply a man proposing marriage - down on one knee, ring in hand, an innocent and charming enough scene. And since the shop supplies wedding outfits, both parties are suitably attired, the gentleman in morning dress and the lady in bridal white.

And yet...in what bizarre set of circumstances would you actually see this scene played out? When does one propose marriage to someone wearing a wedding dress? Only, I hypothesise, when one has crashed the wedding of one's lost love to find her already decked out and ready to go down the aisle with (what one belives to be) the wrong man

Losner's is playing a rather lovely visual joke. What looks like an innocent scene of romance is some guy trying to ruin a wedding, sneaking in just before the big moment to press his alternative suit upon the bride. Hats off to Losner's - it took me a couple of looks to get it, but now it makes me smile every morning.
