St. Albans Nursery Admissions 2011-2012 Now Open

Parents of children born between 1 September 2007 and 21 August 2008 have until the 1st of April to apply online for a nursery place for their child.

A new online application system has been developed to allow parents to apply for places at both schools and private, voluntary and independent nursery providers that offer the 15 hours of free entitlement.

The system, which is available 24/7, offers parents the opportunity to see what providers exist locally and to apply for a place with up to two nursery providers, stating which is a preference. Any choices made can be reviewed and changed up to the deadline of 01 April, 2011.

A leaflet, 'Applying for a nursery place' has been distributed to families across the county, which explains all you need to know about making an application on the new online system.

Last year 94 per cent of applicants applied online.
