I wish I'd seen StevieB's review before going to this restaurant as it would have spared me a very unpleasant evening for exactly the same reason. While the food was indeed good but over priced, the waitress was in a league of rudeness of her own. She was bearable for most of the meal until we made the tragic mistake to ask if we could use our Gourmet Society card to pay the bill. She completely snapped, jumped to our throat and treated in contempt that I have not experienced in a long long time. We were dealt with as if we were the most despicable criminals that walked the earth. So if you willing to take the risk of being served by a volatile waitress, by all mean go to this place. If you don't want your evening ruined, I would also suggest you seek a better place.

We recently ate at Le Moulin in Wheathampstead and whilst the food was good, if a little over priced, the customer services was quite frankly appalling. The waitress/front of house who served us was rude, impatient and unhelpful. We were not welcomed at the door or offered a drink. When she did come to our table to ask us if we were ready to order we had to point out that she had not provided us with menus! Her knowledge of the dishes on the menu was totally inadequate and her responses to any questions we asked were surly! In contrast, when the Chef came to our table, he was friendly and charming. It is a shame that the lasting impression will be of this ladies rudeness.
I suggest that you eat elsewhere in Wheathampstead. There are a number of good alternatives
