Yeovil Town look set to continue their current recruitment drive by signing Manchester United youngster Cameron Stewart.

Attacking midfielder Stewart played against the Glovers for United in Darren Way’s benefit game last weekend.

Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton is now set to bring the player back to Huish Park on a six-month loan deal having just secured the permanent arrival of striker Craig Calver. Calver agreed a one-year deal yesterday after a series of impressive pre-season displays.

The 19-year-old former Ipswich Town and Southend United youth team player caught the eye in the Glovers’ recent friendlies with Swansea, United and Bristol City.

Calver’s only other first-team experience came while on loan to Ryman League sides St Albans City and Braintree Town before joining AFC Sudbury towards the end of last season.

Meanwhile, Skiverton has admitted that he may reverse his decision to release goalkeeper Richard Martin.

Martin left the club at the end of last season after making just five appearances for Yeovil during the 2009-10 campaign. However, the 22-year-old returned for pre-season and had been training with the first team since their return from the summer break.

Skiverton currently has two goalkeepers on the books. On-loan John Sullivan has been Yeovil’s recent first-choice but he is only at the club on a one-month loan deal from Millwall. Ben Roberts is the Glovers’ only other registered goalkeeper but he has not played a competitive match since May 2004.

Skiverton said: “Richard has done fantastically well and the supporters do not realise that in training he is unbelievable.

He is one that has got a chance as well. His attitude has been different class.”
