Very heavy snow is currently falling in St. Albans and surrounding areas. With temperatures hovering around zero, the snow is beginning to stick, particularly on secondary roads and, as this photo taken near Harpenden shows, rural roads are becoming treacherous.

If snow continues to fall at it's current rate, schools may be closed early. Driving Practical Examinations in St. Albans have already been cancelled throughout the morning.
