Snowy St. Albans

Snow is, for a second day in a row, falling on St. Albans with some visible accumulation already. Some secondary roads, which haven't been salted or cleared and, if last year is anything to go by, are unlikely to be, have become treacherous but most main roads are still relatively clear.

The snow is likely to be unwelcomed by local shops and market traders who will worry it will keep shoppers away on what is is one of the most important Christmas shopping weekends. Those who prefer to shop by internet, however, may very well find that the snow delays delivery of their gifts.
Whilst there probably isn't quite enough to sledging, there may very well be soon if the snow continues to fall at this rate. The best places to buy sledges in town are the Cotswald Company, on the corner of Victoria Street and Lattimore Road, and Cuthberts Toys in Christopher Place. Local sledding spots include Verulamium Park and the Brickie on Lower Dagnall Street.
